Coffee stopped working for me. The headaches, the jitters, the crash halfway through the day. I needed something that could carry me through a workweek without burning me out.

My family is from Japan, and they introduced me to matcha early on. I later lived and worked there for years, long enough to see how differently the Japanese approach a craft. Deliberate. Patient. Focused on doing simple things well.

I spent a long time tasting through the options before landing on what we carry. Some of it honestly wasn’t very good. Some of it was excellent but priced for a very small audience. We kept searching for something in the middle: real Japanese quality, thoughtfully sourced, and priced for everyday life.

The other part of this brand is music. LoFi has been in my headphones through long workdays, creative blocks, and the afternoons where I needed to lock back in. It helps me focus without forcing it. Matcha does the same thing. That connection became the foundation for the brand.
